Privacy Policy
Movie Monster is built to work with as little data collection as possible. This page explains what is — and isn't — stored when you use the site.
1. What we store
Movie Monster does not use a server-side account system, and we do not collect or store personal information on our servers. Preferences and activity you create in the app — your display name, accent color, watch progress, and any lists (like “My List”) — are saved only in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device, are never sent to us, and are cleared if you clear your browser data.
2. Third-party services
Movie titles, artwork, and descriptions are retrieved from The Movie Database (TMDB). Video playback is provided by embedded third-party players. When you load a page or play a title, your browser makes requests to these services directly (or through our server as a proxy), which means their own privacy policies and any data they collect (such as standard server logs or IP addresses) apply to those requests. We do not control what these third parties collect.
3. Cookies & tracking
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only client-side storage we use is browser local storage, for the preferences described above.
4. Children's privacy
Movie Monster does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and does not collect personal information from anyone, as described above.
5. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
